A German charity organisation, Hilal Afrika, has donated boreholes to Nyama and Kwilombe villages in the area of Traditional Authority Kasumbu in Dedza District.
Team Leader for Hilal Afrika, Umut Turan, said they are working with Dawn Aid and other organisations in providing safe and potable water to rural communities in order to promote sanitation and hygiene.
A beneficiary, Juliana Haidon, said the boreholes are a solution to challenges of lack of safe and potable water as well as travelling long distance to search for water.
Hilal Afrika has so far constructed 24 boreholes across the country, each costing K6 million.
