2023/24 tree planting season sees 36,000 cedar trees in Mulanje

Mulanje Conservation Trust has planted 36,000 cedar trees on Mulanje Mountain, with assistance from communities and the forestry department.

Kondwani Chamwala, Environmental Education and Communication Officer at the Trust, says the exercise commenced at the start of the 2023 tree planting season.

Chimwala then urged people to plant trees in localities that have similar climatic conditions to Mulanje District.
