Department of Human Resource Management and Development (DHRMD) is set to digitalise all 263,000 civil servant files across the country, that is, over five million human resource records in the public service.
The initiative, undertaken in collaboration with the Department of the Accountant General, aims to modernise and streamline human resource management by transitioning from traditional manual record-keeping to a fully digitalised platform.
Speaking at the launch of the exercise, Secretary for Human Resource Management and Development, Blessings Chilabade, highlighted that the project will enhance service delivery in key areas such as pension management, salary arrears, promotions, training, transfers and loan processing.
In the first phase, the department is expected to digitalise over 49,000 files of all healthcare personnel in the country.
The entire exercise is funded by the World Bank.
