One of Africa’s leading electric vehicle manufacturers and green tech companies, Agilitee Limited, has announced the appointment of Sarah Thompson to its board of directors, marking a significant milestone as the company undergoes major restructuring.
Thompson officially joined the board in December 2024 and will assume a leadership role at Agilitee from 1 February 2025, the company announced in a statement.
According to Agilitee, her addition to the team comes as the company relocates its headquarters to the United States and completes its board restructuring, a move that aligns with its vision for global expansion.
Founded by Mandla Lamba in 2018, the company is renowned for its innovative electric scooters, which have become a preferred choice in Africa due to their cost-effective, solar-powered charging systems, offered at no cost to customers.
Lamba, the Chief Executive Officer of Agilitee, expressed enthusiasm about Thompson’s appointment, stating: “We are thrilled to welcome Sarah to the Board of Directors. Her proven track record in driving revenue and business growth will be an invaluable asset to our leadership team and board.”
Lamba further highlighted that Thompson brings over 25 years of executive experience, specialising in corporate finance, operations, and scaling early-stage, turnaround, and high-growth companies. Her expertise spans industrial manufacturing, supply chain management, and logistics for industries such as auto parts, composite materials, and medical devices.
He noted that Thompson is also recognised for her passion for improving systems and building highly effective teams. Over the past decade, Thompson has actively supported various community-based non-profit organisations, aligning her values with Agilitee’s commitment to global community impact.
