Faith leaders in the country have been urged to innovate and implement entrepreneurial initiatives to strengthen their financial independence and reduce reliance on church members.
Global Ambassador for Transform World from Australia, Apostle Jamie Pryor, made the remarks in Mzuzu during a training session for faith leaders from the northern region.
The training focused on education, entrepreneurship and mindset change.
He emphasised that if more faith leaders are equipped with the right knowledge on how to impact their churches, communities and families financially beyond just preaching the gospel, there will be significant progress.
Presidential Advisor on Religious Affairs, Reverend Brian Kamwendo, said the training aligned itself with the Malawi 2063 blueprint, which aim to foster financial independence and a shift in mindset towards becoming a more developed nation at all levels.
Secretary General for Mzuzu Pastors Fraternal, Bishop Monica Nyondo, commended Transform World for the initiative.
Nyondo that the training will empower faith leaders to bring positive change to their communities, ultimately improving the quality of life for many.
Over 200 faith leaders from various denominations in the Northern Region have attended the training.
