Maranatha Academy has reaffirmed its commitment to offering holistic education to its students by integrating sports into its curriculum. Managing Director of Maranatha Academy, Enerst Kaonga made the remarks on the sidelines of an inter-school sporting games.
He said his institution understands the importance of physical, mental, and spiritual growth of children hence encouraging that students at the institution should engage in sporting activities at appropriate times.
“The academy is inspired by the biblical verse that reads, “And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man” (Luke 2:52). We believes that students should develop in all aspects of life,” said Kaonga
“At Maranatha, it is not all about teaching and reading notes. We believe in holistic education, where children should exercise too. In sporting games, talents are identified, who knows, some of these students will play in national teams and represent this country abroad someday,” added Kaonga.

Kaonga further recalled the inter-school competitions and called for their full revival.
“During Dr Banda’s time, we had inter-school sporting games, including the Mayor’s Trophy games. Let the children get a complete education in our institutions,” he said.
The academy recently engaged in a sports competition against Kalibu Academy, providing a platform for showcasing the students’ athletic prowess. Out of four games played, Maranatha won three.
