Minister of Homeland Security, Ezekiel Ching’oma, has urged Immigration Officers to fully understand and use the Migration Information and Data Analysis System (MIDAS) to improve immigration operations.
Ching’oma made the remarks in Lilongwe during the training of Immigration Officers on MIDAS.
According to him, MIDAS training is valuable for the country’s security.
He urged immigration officers to fully engage and participate in the training to ensure the system reaches its full potential once implemented in border posts.
Acting Director General of the Department of Immigration and Citizenship Services, Fletcher Nyirenda, described MIDAS as a major milestone for the ministry, the department and the nation.
Nyirenda said the system will enable immigration officers to identify areas for improvement and address existing challenges.
