In the spirit of walking the talk, on Wednesday Illovo Sugar Malawi supported a women empowerment organization named Skilled Women Artisans in Malawi with personal protective gear.

“Presently, our company has young women working in both formal and informal sectors and the door is open to those who want to stimulate their skills,” assures Katandula.

Skilled Women Artisans in Malawi Executive Director, Mary Mphonda, says their policy is to nurture, enable, and empower young women artisans entering the country’s construction industry.

The organisation opened its doors in 2021and has thus far assisted over 300 young women artisans in acquiring jobs in the country’s male-dominated construction industry.
