A delegation from the Ministry of Finance and Economic Affairs has utilized the Forum on Global Action for Shared Development, which is underway in Beijing, China to lobby for financing of the Agriculture, Tourism and Mining (ATM) Strategy which was introduced by President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera early this year.
Led by Secretary to Treasury Betchani Tchereni, the delegation is meeting bilateral and multilateral partners as well as the private sector from China and other countries to woo investment in the areas that the strategy focuses on.
In an interview with MBC Digital, Tchereni underscored the importance of courting foreign investments into the strategy, indicating that it will lead to Malawi’s rapid economic growth.
The forum has brought together high level delegates from countries across the globe, international organisations and the private sector.
