Police IG calls for professionalism among police officers

Malawi Police Service Inspector General Merlyne Yolamu has called for professionalism among police officers.

She urged the 681 new recruits at Mtakataka Police Training School to uphold the ethics and skills they acquired during training, serving with integrity, patriotism and discipline.

The recruits, who began training on 16 October 2023, are part of a total of 1,993 new officers graduating across the country.

Yolamu lauded the community for their support and partnerships with companies, noting a decrease in crime rates.

Meanwhile, an outstanding recruit, Khembo Khembo, has encouraged fellow officers to dedicate themselves to their duties and maintain law and order.
