Rwandese nationals, led by Rwanda’s Chargé d’Affaires to Malawi, Douglas Gakumba, are celebrating 30 years of liberation and 62 years of independence.
The celebrations are taking place at the Bingu International Convention Center in Lilongwe, with government officials and some representatives and Heads of Missions to Malawi in attendance.
Independence Day in Rwanda falls on July 1, marking the country’s liberation from Belgium in 1962.
