Football Association of Malawi (FAM) is confident they can surpass the Blantyre derby’s record-breaking K80.4 million gate revenue as Mighty Mukuru Wanderers and FCB Nyasa Big Bullets clash in the FDH Bank Cup round of 16 on Sunday at Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre.
The stadium, with a capacity of 14,000 people, will host the highly anticipated match.
In an interview with MBC Digital, FAM Marketing and Broadcasting Manager, Tulipo Mwenelupembe, expressed optimism, noting that ticket pre-sales have been impressive.
In May, the derby in the TNM Super League grossed K80.4 million at the same venue, surpassing the K67.7 million realised during a similar match in the second round last season.
