Kabaza operators welfare key in supporting their marriages

Dedza Police Station Victims Support Unit (VSU) has urged the district’s Kabaza Taxi Operators to consider the welfare of their families following allegations that they fail to support their families due to extra-marital affairs.

Chairperson of the operators, Vincent Kapiye, confirmed this.

“Our Association has registered complains from wives of some Kabaza Taxi Operators that they are not receiving support from their husband’s as they use to. I can not specify the real number, but it’s a problem. You can get the figures from the police,” Kapiye said.

Dedza Police’s VSU Crime Prevention Officer, Martin Piyo, said they roughly register about 5 cases a day.

“We are sensentising them through established committees in their area of work,” Piyo said.
