Local modelling agency, ELK Management, has organised an event for artists in the beauty, fashion design, skincare and food industries, among other categories to showcase their skills.
Publicist for ELK Management, Henry Malunga, said the event, dubbed ‘Beauty Fun Fair’ will be held on 1 and 2 November at the Bingu National Stadium in Lilongwe.
Malunga said the initiative is aimed at promoting local talent as they have set aside K30 million to effectively conduct the event.

“It is also a way for us to connect brands with potential clients and give Malawi an exciting and engaging experience,” he said.
Arts enthusiast, Herbert Katanda, hailed the organisers of the impending event as he cited that the country has been lagging with such.

“This will also assist in fostering fair connections among creators and consumers, while also promoting self-expression and empowerment among the artists,” Katanda said.
This is the first Beauty Fun Fair event and it is expected to be held annually and in all other major cities of the country.
Since 2020, ELK Management has invested in only fashion and pageant shows, notably the Miss Hangout held from 2020 to 2023.
