Apostle Kawinga calls for compassion towards underprivileged

The Founder and President of Salvation for All Ministries International, Apostle Clifford Kawinga, has urged Malawians to embrace the spirit of compassion by supporting and showing love to the underprivileged in society.

Apostle Kawinga made the remarks during a visit to 55-year-old Yotham Nkokoko of Thunduzi Village in the area of Senior Chief Chauma in Dedza District, who has been paralysed and bedridden for 29 years.

He said practical Christianity is demonstrated through reaching out and caring for the vulnerable. Describing Nkokoko’s life as a testimony of God’s divine power and grace, Kawinga said that despite the hardships he has endured, his survival demonstrates that God sustains life regardless of circumstances.

Nkokoko has been bedridden for nearly three decades

“This is a follow-up visit after we constructed and handed over a house to the family in 2021. We felt it was important to return and continue supporting them. Today, we have brought a sewing machine to help the family start an income-generating business for their sustainability,” said Kawinga.

Under the Hope Field Initiative, Apostle Kawinga also donated K2 million in cash, a solar power system, bedding, a radio, and assorted groceries including rice, soya pieces, soap, and cooking oil, aimed at improving the family’s welfare.

In 2021, Salvation for All Ministries International constructed a house for Nkokoko and provided essential household items such as a bed and bedding after learning about his condition through an article by one of the local online news outlets.

Apostle Kawinga has been cheering Nkokoko for years on end

Speaking after receiving the donation, Yotham’s mother, Emily Chaima, expressed gratitude to Apostle Kawinga and the ministry for their continued support, saying the assistance will help ease the family’s economic challenges.

“My son has suffered for many years, and life has not been easy for us. We are grateful for this kindness and support because it gives us hope and relief,” she said.

According to the family, Yotham Nkokoko fell ill from an unknown illness in 1997 while he was in Form Three at William Murray Secondary School, a condition that has left him paralysed to this day.
