Flames Coach Patrick Mabedi says his side will capitalise on Sao Tome & Principe’s flaws on 6 June when they lock horns at the Bingu National Stadium in Lilongwe after observing how the team plays.
Mabedi says he watched the team as they played against South Sudan and observed that they concede a lot of goals but have interesting and influential players.
“A team we have to be careful with, but take opportunity on their mistakes,” he said.
On Tuesday morning, the team had its first session where Mabedi hailed his players’ sharp and focused mentality and said his focus is on tactical superiority, and taking ‘one game at a time’.
After Flames face Sao Tome, next up on 10 June is Equatorial Guinea, who are pointless in Malawi’s group after they were deducted points due to fielding an eligible player.
