In an effort to motivate students sitting for the Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) Examination, Private Schools Association of Malawi (PRISAM) President, Ernest Kaonga, has pledged K1 million each to the top six performers.
Kaonga stated that three girls and three boys will be rewarded if they emerge outstanding in the examination currently underway across the country.
“As PRISAM, we believe that motivation is a key factor in encouraging students to work hard and achieve stellar results,” he said.
“We need to inspire these students because our goal is to see them scoring highly during examinations. As PRISAM President, I have set aside K6 million for the top six students who will excel in the MSCE Examination,” said Kaonga.
Kaonga, who is also Managing Director of Maranatha Academy, emphasised that the offer extends to both private and public school students.
“It doesn’t matter whether you attend a public or private school. What I am looking for are the top six performers and they will be well rewarded for their outstanding work,” he said.
Kaonga underscored that his actions stem from a passion for education and a desire to complement the government’s efforts to promote quality education in the country.
This is not the first time Kaonga has provided financial incentives to students for examinations. Earlier this year, he challenged students sitting for the Junior Certificate of Education, promising rewards for top performers and offering scholarships to various underprivileged students.
