In a joint venture Standard Bank of Malawi and the Press Trust have unveiled the second phase of a merit-based secondary school scholarship programme set to span from 2024 to 2027.
Valued at K220 million this initiative aims to benefit 46 outstanding students nationwide.
Philip Madinga, Chief Executive Officer of Standard Bank, views this as a contribution towards the country’s pursuit of Sustainable Development Goals, emphasizing the empowerment of youth through education and vocational skills.
Rachel Chimbwete-Phiri, the Principal Secretary in the Ministry of Education responsible for basic education, commended the ongoing commitment by the bank, recognizing the crucial role it plays in shaping the educational landscape.
