Minister of Gender, Children and Social Welfare Mary Navicha has described Malawi University of Science and Technology (MUST) Vice Chancellor Professor Address Malata’s departure as not an end, but the beginning of a new chapter in her life.
Navicha said this during a farewell dinner held in Blantyre on Thursday to mark the end of her tenure as Vice Chancellor.
Navicha thanked Malata for promoting excellence in the education sector and urged her to continue inspiring generations and making a difference in the lives of others.
“Professor Malata, we thank you for the opportunity to have worked with you, and we pray that God continues to bless you and your family as you begin this new chapter,” said Navicha.
She further encouraged Malata to embrace new opportunities to inspire future generations.
Malawi University of Science and Technology (MUST) Vice Chancellor Address Malata has thanked President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika for entrusting her with the leadership of the university ten years ago.
She said she does not take the confidence placed in her for granted, particularly because she became the first woman to hold the position.
Malata also expressed gratitude to the government for supporting MUST, saying such support enables institutions to achieve their aspirations.
She further thanked the university’s management and staff, including the Deputy Vice Chancellor, executive members, drivers and other employees, for their contribution to her work.
