Ministry of Health is stressing the importance of completing vaccination regimen for children to ensure effective immunisation.
The ministry says it has observed a disturbing trend where parents discontinue vaccination treatments after an initial dose.
Addressing the press in Dowa District, Deputy Director for Health Promotion, Dr Kondwani Mampa, emphasised the necessity of completing the vaccination process for effective immunisation.
“Such incomplete immunisations pose significant risks, potentially leading to disease outbreaks and diminishing survival rates among children, ” said Dr Mampa.
He clarified that while vaccination does not guarantee immunity, it substantially reduces the risk of severe illness, thereby enhancing a child’s chances of survival in the event of infection.
