Lumbadzi Police Station has challenged women to step in and help in containing suicide cases among men, which the law enforcers believe are largely fuelled by family misunderstandings.
Lumbadzi Police’s Community Policing Officer, Ellen Kanyenda, made the call on Friday at Chakhutamadzi Village in the area of Traditional authority Chitukula in Lilongwe.
Kanyenda encouraged constructive conversations between the women and their husbands or seek counselling from the victim support units.
Senior Group Village Headman Mlezi commended the law enforcers for taking advantage of a tombstone unveiling ceremony in the area to disseminate what he described important security-related messages.
