Malawi’s biggest esports and game development expo, CyberExpoX, will return for its second edition this December, Event Coordinator Robert Cheleuka has confirmed.
The event, organised by King of The Grid in collaboration with the Esports Association of Malawi (EAM) and Weebcon, follows the inaugural expo held in Blantyre last year.
In that event, it had brought together local game developers, digital artists and cosplayers and saw the unveiling of EAM.
According to Cheleuka, this year’s edition will feature workshops on game development and intellectual property, esports exhibitions, video game showcases.
There shall also be panel discussions involving industry players from Malawi and the Southern African Development Community region.
Technical artist and Atrybute Graphics Chief Executive, Tyrene Homolang Marule, will lead a workshop for game developers and aspiring creators, drawing on her industry experience.
CyberExpoX aims to promote local and regional talent in digital arts, esports and game development while connecting Malawian creators to opportunities in the global digital economy.
