Digital inclusion vital for achieving Malawi 2063 – MACRA

Malawi Communications Regulatory Authority MACRA says digital inclusion is key towards achieving Malawi 2063 development agenda.

MACRA’s Head of Universal Service Fund (USF), Ronald Tembo, said this at Chifira Community Day Secondary School in Nkhatabay District during a ground breaking ceremony for the construction of an ICT laboratory at the school.

“As MACRA we are upbeat on the progress being made towards fulfilling Malawi 2063, enabler number five regarding digital inclusion and human capital development,” said Tembo.

Member of Parliament for the area, Ken Zikhale Ng’oma, who is also Minister of Homeland Security, described the initiative as a game changer for students to access information for their studies.

Head teacher for the school, Brighton Manda, said the move will enable learners acquire ICT knowledge and skills early in their school lives, which is vital to transforming their lives and communities.
