Blue Eagles now boasts of three players among the 2025/26 Castel Challenge Cup scorers following their commanding 4-1 victory over Chitipa United on Sunday at Chitipa Stadium.
Since the start of the tournament, Micium Mhone and Tonic Viyuyi have each scored thrice while Pius Saka has scored two.
On Sunday, Mhone scored a hat-trick and Viyuyi contributed a goal.
Saka’s contributions were recognised in a recent 5-1 demolition of Airborne Rangers on 17 January, the day when Viyuyu also scored, and a 1-0 win against MAFCO.
Nonetheless, FCB Nyasa Big Bullets’ striker, Gastin Phodo, still leads the scorers chart with five goals.
Phodo got these through a hat trick on 11 January against Songwe Border United, helping his side win 3-0, and a brace in a 3-1 win against Ndirande Stars on 17 January.
Others with two goals include Silver Strikers duo, Charles Chipala and Chinsinsi Maonga.
Chipala and Maonga registered their goals on 15 January when their side thrashed Namitete Zitha 5-0.
However, their journey was cut short after their side got defeated by Mzuzu City Hammers 2-1 on Saturday at Rumphi Stadium.
Castel Challenge Cup continues on 31 January when Mighty Tigers will face FCB Nyasa Big Bullets.
After that, there will be Mzuzu City Hammers against Mighty Wanderers, Blue Eagles locking horns against Goshen City Dedza Dynamos, who went to this stage after defeating Ekhaya FC 2-0 on Saturday.
