The Malawi Revenue Authority (MRA) has beaten its three months revenue collection target by attaining the target in two months.
According to figures from the tax collecting body, MRA targeted to collect K402.63 billion from January to March 2024
but by the end of February, it had already collected K446.14 billion.
This represents a surplus of K43.53 billion.
MRA Commissioner General John Bizwick has said during a press briefing in Blantyre that they expect the trend to continue.
MRA has attributed the positive development to a number of factors including tax policy changes, efficiency, outreach services and improved economic conditions.
