Malawian philanthropist Chawezi Banda, popularly known as Cha-Cha, will be honoured at the African Achievement Awards 2026 for her commitment to serving local and international communities.
Banda pledged to continue making a meaningful difference in people’s lives.
“I am humbled and honoured to receive the award,” she said.
African Achievement Awards President Dr Davies Chirwa said Banda’s recognition reflected her commitment to community service.
“Her recognition reminds us that compassion, service and a genuine commitment to helping others are among the most meaningful expressions of leadership,” Chirwa said.
He said the awards provide an international platform to celebrate African excellence, strengthen cultural connections and bring together people whose achievements and service contribute to a brighter future.
“The African Achievement Awards is more than an awards ceremony. It is a celebration of our heritage, our achievements, our humanity and our responsibility to future generations,” he said.
The ceremony will take place on Sunday, 13 December 2026, at the Hilton Seattle Airport Conference Center in SeaTac, Washington, USA.
Presented in partnership with the City of SeaTac, the African Achievement Awards celebrate individuals whose work reflects excellence, leadership, humanitarian service and a commitment to uplifting others.
