Malawi men’s under-21 hockey team is set to make its debut in the Zambezi Test Series in Zambia’s capital, Lusaka.
The event is scheduled from June 7 to 9, 2024.
The team departed earlier today via road.
Initially, the series was planned to feature Malawi, Zambia, Zimbabwe and Uganda but Zimbabwe withdrew at the 11th hour due to financial challenges.
According to the association’s General Secretary, Geoffrey Biya, the tournament gives a valuable opportunity for players to showcase their talent.
The games will follow a round-robin format.
Malawi’s first match is scheduled against Uganda on Friday, followed by a match against the host nation, Zambia later on the same day.
