Youths urged to lead climate change fight

Youths in the country have been urged to play an active role in combating climate change and global warming through mass awareness campaigns.

Charles Mkoka, Executive Director for the Coordination Union for the Rehabilitation of the Environment (CURE) said youths can harness their numerical strength in advocating for climate change mitigation policies and support organisations working on similar issues.

Environmentalist Matthews Malata concurred and stressed that the youth should demand for space in the environmental conservation process.

Malata added that there is need for a dedicated fund to support youth innovation, resources for scalable solutions like renewable energy and sustainable agriculture projects.
