International entrepreneurs urged to invest in Malawi

Second Vice President Enock Chihana has implored foreign investors to invest in Malawi for enhanced development activities.

Chihana underscored the need to invest in Malawi’s health and education infrastructure, especially in remote areas.

He made the call in Botswana on Saturday during the unveiling of the African Hero Foundation, which seeks to reduce grassroots poverty through the construction of schools, clinics and technical colleges among others.

The Second Vice President added that the Democratic Progressive Party-led administration has created a conducive environment for investment, citing stability, peace and investor-friendly laws.

Chihana said President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika wants quality education and healthcare infrastructure developed at all levels.

He then urged investors to partner with government in constructing modern hospitals, laboratories, pharmaceutical facilities and schools of excellence.

Malawi is expected to benefit from the AGA ISAGO Initiative through the construction of additional school blocks and healthcare facilities.

The AGA ISAGO Foundation, also known as the AGA ISAGO Development and Empowerment Foundation, is an African Hero Foundation championed by President Duma Gideon Boko of Botswana and South African business tycoon Zunaid Moti.

According to the Foundation, its model focuses on designing, manufacturing, constructing, equipping and maintaining social infrastructure in partnership with governments, development institutions and private companies.
