‘Young offenders can be reformed with spiritual assistance’

Spiritual assistance has been described as one of the components of reforming and rehabilitating young offenders to make them reliable citizens.

Esther Sandra Banda, the National Chairperson for Women’s World Day of Prayer, disclosed this when donating items worth over K4 million to Bvumbwe Young Offenders Rehabilitation Centre in Thyolo, which has 292 young convicts.

The organisation also encouraged the young offenders at the facility to accept and embrace change to be transformed and potentially contribute to the nation’s development.

The donation was made as the group commemorates its annual charity day, which is marked by charitable activities worldwide.
