Parliamentarian for Chitipa East, Kezzie Msukwa, has stressed the need for stakeholders to join hands with the government in motivating teachers through every possible means including giving them gifts.
Msukwa was speaking at Chuba Community Day Secondary School in Chitipa District when he presented gifts and prizes to best-performing teachers and schools during the past Primary School Leaving Certificate Examinations.
“We appreciate the role and efforts you put in teaching the learners hence the need for our appreciation,” he said.
Chitipa District Commissioner, Macmillan Magomero, said the government commends complementary efforts by stakeholders aimed at promoting education standards in the district.
During the function, teachers were given incentives based on several grades produced on a particular subject.
