A total of 41 households in Karonga District have been internally displaced due to land disputes and witchcraft accusations.
Aaron Mwenelupembe, the district’s Secretary for Peace and Unity Committee, said the affected people are from five Senior Chiefs localities.
Mwenelupembe revealed this on Tuesday in Chitipa during a four-day workshop on the development and implementation of district and community advocacy strategies on Sexual Gender Based Violence (SGBV) prevention, Peace Building and Conflict Resolution.
