United Civil Servants SACCO (UCSSACCO) has called on journalists to champion financial literacy and foster a saving culture in the country.
UCSSACCO Chief Executive Officer, Francis Waliwa, stressed this during a central region engagement with journalists in Lilongwe.
Waliwa noted that Journalists are key influencers who can effectively disseminate messages about savings, budgeting and investment to the nation, if they embrace financial literacy.
Last month, African Confederation of Cooperative Savings and Credit Associations recognised UCSSACCO as Africa’s fastest-growing SACCO boasting over 80,000 members and a K43 billion portfolio.
