The government says it plans to re-establish the Malawi Development Corporation –MDC to facilitate investment in the country.
Minister of Finance Sosten Gwengwe told MBC in an interview that the move will allow the government to own some shares and have a say in several companies.
He also said preparations are now at an advanced stage.
In the early 1990s, Malawi saw the closure of several government entities a move many say was an economic goof.
