The Medical Council of Malawi with the Ministry of Health and the Association of Medical Councils of Africa (AMCOA), will jointly host an annual Capacity Building Workshop under the theme “Use of Digital Technology and Innovation in Strengthening Governance and Regulation in Health Care. The event will be held at the Bingu International Convention Centre, Lilongwe, from 18 – 20 March 2024. The guest of honour will be the Minister of Health, Honourable Khumbize Kandodo Chiponda, MP.
AMCOA’s mission is to create an environment for best practice by health professions regulatory bodies in partnership with member councils.
The purpose of this Capacity Building Workshop is to capacitate health regulators, health practitioners, associations, researchers, scholars, training institutions and hospitals on use of digital technology and innovation to strengthen health regulation, training and service provision. The topics will include the roles of the health regulator, new technologies in health regulation and education, use of technology in professional practice, quality of care and interprofessional collaboration, and resource mobilization strategies in health. Participants will attain 10 CPD points for attending the workshop.
