Beautify Malawi BEAM Trust has signed a working partnership with the Minibus Owners Association of Malawi (MOAM) to enhance sanitation in minibuses and bus depots.
BEAM Trust Board Chairperson, Dingiswayo Jere, said this is a nationwide campaign, which seeks to promote hygiene and sanitation at all bus depots while encouraging passengers to adopt responsible waste disposal habits.
Jere said the focus is to spearhead behavioural change on littering by educating passengers on the importance of protecting public spaces and disposing of waste responsibly.
MOAM Secretary General Coxley Kamange reaffirmed his organisation’s commitment to ensure that bus depots remain clean by strengthening hygiene management and encouraging transport operators to maintain a sanitary environment.
During signing ceremony, BEAM Trust handed over sanitation equipment to the Minibus Owners Association of Malawi.
Beautify Malawi Trust was founded by First Lady Professor Gertrude Mutharika to, among others, support the Government in areas of sanitation, health and education.
