Several houses and properties have been damaged in Neno District due to heavy rains and strong winds.
Neno District Disaster Risk Management Officer, Brighton Mphinga, confirmed that areas around the boma have been heavily affected and some families have lost almost everything.
“A lot of infrastructure including school blocks, houses, telecommunication towers, business shops, offices and electricity poles have been damaged,” he said.
Mphinga said an assessment is still on-going to ascertain the extent of damage.
