MEC receives 90% of EMDs

Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) says so far it has received 90% of Election Management Devices (EMDs) in readiness for the upcoming voter registration and 2025 general elections.

Speaking when receiving the EMDs at Kamuzu International Airport, MEC Commissioner Olivia Liwewe said everything is going according to plan and MEC will start training people in the country on how to use the devices.

According to Liwewe, MEC will continue engaging different political parties in every stage of registration until the end of elections.

Representing Democratic Progressive Party, Mcford Somanje has commended MEC for political party inclusion in such processes.
