All is set at St Peter and Paul Cathedral of the Anglican Church at Mpondasi in Mangochi for the enthronement of Bishop William Mchombo as the third Bishop of the Diocese of Upper Shire of the Anglican Church.
Chairperson of the organising committee, Winasi Boma has told MBC that the Diocese is so excited to welcome the new Bishop because the diocese has been without a Bishop for a long time.
“A Bishop plays an active role in maintaining peace, order and decorum of a cathedral, therefore to be without a Bishop it is like a ship without a captain,” said Boma.
Mchombo is already a Bishop and was ministering in Eastern Zambia but has since been transferred to Malawi.
