MET warns about Mwera winds on Lake Malawi

Department of Climate Change and Meteorological Services (MET) has warned of Mwera winds over lake bodies in the country, which are expected to intensify on Sunday, May 19, 2024.

According to a statement from the Director of the Department, fishermen should take precautionary measures to avoid loss of life and properties.

Saturday will be windy, cloudy and cold with light rain and fog in most areas due to the cool and noisy South Easterly air mass.

Mzuzu will be the coldest area at 12 degrees Celsius while Ngabu will be the warmest at 21 degrees in the morning.

In the afternoon, Ngabu will still be the warmest at 28 degrees Celsius, while Mzuzu will be the coldest at 21 degrees.
