Ascent Academy and MDF Lioness will meet in the final of the 2023 Goshen- FAM National Women’s Championship on Sunday following their victories in the semifinals.
The military-sponsored MDF Lioness secured their spot in the final for the first time by defeating Civil Service United Ladies 3-0.
Fazila Chiyembekeza scored twice while Mervis Misomali added hers to seal the win.
Ascent reached the final for the second consecutive year after a 2-0 win over Silver Strikers Ladies.
Ruth Nyirongo’s own goal and a strike from Atuweni Njilima ensured their progression. Last year, Ascent Academy lost to Ntopwa in a penalty shootout at Mpira Stadium in Blantyre.
The third-place playoff will be between Silver and Civil.
