NBS, LUANAR PACT TO BENEFIT FARMERS

NBS Bank has partnered with Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural Resources (LUANAR) to enhance agri-based research and crop production.

Vizenge Kumwenda, Chairperson for NBS Bank, emphasised the significance of enhancing research in the agricultural sector since the country’s economy heavily relies on agriculture.

Kumwenda highlighted the importance of providing farmers with knowledge and skills to boost food productivity.

LUANAR’s Vice Chancellor, Professor Emmanuel Kaunda, expressed optimism about the partnership, stating that it would enable the institution to conduct in-depth and conclusive research.

The research to be conducted under the project named Transformative Agriculture Commercialisation and Entrepreneurship (TACE), is expected to benefit rural farmers.
