Bangwe woman arrested for vandalizing BWB pipe

Police in Limbe have arrested 21-year-old Celina Ganya for allegedly vandalizing a Blantyre Water Board pipe in Bangwe Township.

It is reported that Ganya vandalized the pipe in an attempt to access free water.

Public Relations Officer for Limbe Police Aubrey Singanyama says Ganya was arrested with the assistance of the community policing forum in the area.

“Residents from the surrounding area began drawing water from the broken pipe until when a well-wisher temporarily fixed it. However, this action angered Ganya, who then vandalized the pipe again to access free water,” he said.

The suspect will soon appear before court to answer charges.
