MwaPATA Institute says the knowledge gap remains a challenge in coming up with agricultural policies.
The Institute’s Executive Director, William Chadza, stressed this as they were signing a Memorandum of Understanding with Parliament.
Chadza emphasized the need for authorities to have sound knowledge when developing policies.
He stated that the MoU will benefit both parties, with the institute providing technical knowledge to three parliamentary committees, including those on Agriculture and Climate Change.
Clerk for Parliament, Fiona Kalemba, described the partnership as timely, adding that it will help the August House with effective guidance on the formulation of policies.
MwaPATA Institute was established with the aim of engaging the government, the private sector and civil stakeholders in applied policy analysis, policy outreach and capacity building.
