The Kingdom of Morocco is set to host the ninth joint ministerial meeting between Morocco and member states of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), in a move aimed at further strengthening cooperation and strategic relations between the two sides.
In a statement released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, officials said the decision for Morocco to host the meeting was proposed by GCC countries in acknowledgement of the Kingdom’s role in promoting stronger ties with the Gulf region.
The announcement was made during the eighth Morocco–GCC joint ministerial meeting held on Thursday via video conference. The meeting brought together Morocco’s Foreign Affairs Minister Nasser Bourita, GCC Secretary-General Jassem Mohammed Al-Budaiwi, as well as foreign ministers and representatives from GCC member states.
During the discussions, GCC officials commended the longstanding relations between Morocco and Gulf countries and acknowledged the Kingdom’s continued efforts to enhance collaboration among Arab nations.
Participants also pointed out the role of King Mohammed VI in advancing Morocco’s diplomatic engagement with the GCC and strengthening strategic cooperation between the partners.

According to the ministry, Morocco’s selection to host the next ministerial meeting reflects the confidence Gulf nations have in the Kingdom and its leadership.
It also underscores the close ties and shared commitment to dialogue and coordination on matters of mutual interest between Morocco and GCC member states.
