Puma Energy Malawi has opened a new Shop Express outlet at Crossroads in Lilongwe as the company expands its retail operations beyond fuel.
Speaking at the launch, Lilongwe City Mayor Alex Banda welcomed the investment, saying the outlet would provide additional shopping facilities for motorists and residents in the surrounding area.
Banda also urged businesses to operate in areas approved by the City Council.
Puma Energy Managing Director Steveria Kadangwe said the company was upgrading its retail outlets to offer customers additional services alongside fuel.
She said the company was also seeking to increase revenue from non-fuel services, including ATMs.
The dealer of the new outlet, Sibtain Sakrani, said the shop would operate until midnight.
Puma Energy currently has 40 Shop Express outlets across Malawi and says it plans to open more at its service stations.
