Malawi Broadcasting Corporation (MBC) and the Media Institute of Southern Africa (MISA) Malawi Chapter have extended their condolences to the family of the late Geoffrey Kapusa, who at one point worked at the national broadcaster as a Television presenter and producer.
MBC Director General, George Kasakula, says Kapusa will be remembered by all who had the privilege of working alongside him through his passion and dedication.
Kasakula stresses that Kapusa’s legacy will continue to inspire MBC and future generations of broadcasters.
On the other hand, Golden Matonga, MISA Malawi’s chairperson, said Malawians will miss him greatly as he is practically the first television celebrity in Malawi.
“Families will today remember the moments they shared in their living room to watch Mr Splash, as Kapusa was fondly known, dazzle them,” Matonga said.
Kapusa died at Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital in Blantyre on Tuesday, April 23, 2024.
He joined MBC in 1997 and later had brief stints with other popular media houses in the country.
