BCCF expands Breast Cancer Awareness with Rural Outreach Clinics

As the country continues to commemorate Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the Breast Cancer Care Foundation (BCCF), a local non-governmental organisation, has intensified its outreach efforts to promote early detection and awareness of the disease through free screening clinics and educational workshops across Malawi.

Recently, the Foundation conducted an outreach clinic at the Dream Centre in the Kapeni community in Blantyre, where 26 women were screened.

According to BCCF Executive Director, Tabitha Warwick, the women demonstrated great enthusiasm to learn more about breast health and pledged to share the life-saving information with others in their community.

In another initiative, BCCF partnered with Illovo Nchalo Estate to hold a Rural Outreach Screening and Awareness Workshop in Chikwawa, where 91 women were screened. Out of these, 88 had normal results, while three were referred for further medical follow-up.

BCCF says its goal is to ensure that no woman is left behind in the fight against breast cancer by providing continuous access to free screenings and empowering communities with vital health education.
