ESCOM concerned with continued infrastructure vandalism

ESCOM says it has lost over K2 billion due to vandalism of its infrastructure over the last two years. 

ESCOM Chief Public Relations Manager, Kitty Chingota, has confirmed to MBC Digital that the company is registering cases of infrastructure vandalism on a daily basis.

She adds that in April 2024 alone, over 19 cases were registered at Nchalo in Chikwawa District.

To tame the problem, ESCOM is engaging NICE Trust and MBC to jointly develop and mount a public awareness campaign against vandalism.
