Maranatha Academy has commended its former student, Ireen Navicha, for representing Malawi at the Miss World competition, describing her performance as a reflection of the values of discipline, excellence and service promoted by the institution.
In a statement, the academy said it is particularly proud of Navicha’s achievement in reaching the Top 24 in the Beauty With a Purpose category, which recognises contestants who use their platforms to promote initiatives that benefit communities.
According to the academy, Navicha demonstrated confidence, determination and national pride while showcasing Malawi’s talent and potential on the international stage.
Maranatha Academy Director, Ernest Kaonga, said the institution will honour Navicha with a special award when she returns to Malawi.
Kaonga further said details of the award will be announced after her return.He described Navicha’s achievement as a source of pride for her family, the academy and the country, noting that she had demonstrated that Malawian women can compete successfully on the global stage.
Kaonga also lauded Navicha for using the Miss World platform to promote Malawi’s culture and highlight the country’s potential.
He emphasised that Navicha’s journey is an example of how education, determination and a commitment to serving others can help young people achieve their ambitions.
